Dr. Robert Harden – A Pioneer in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry

Dedicated to transforming psychiatric care for younger populations, Robert Harden, M.D. has spent decades advancing child and adolescent mental health treatment. After earning a doctor of medicine from Meharry Medical College, Dr. Robert Harden pursued specialized training in child and adolescent psychiatry at Timberlawn Psychiatric Hospital, where he developed expertise in treating complex mental health conditions in youth.

For 20 years, Dr. Robert Harden led as executive medical director of child and adolescent services at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital of Plano, overseeing inpatient programs tailored to younger patients. His impact extended to Plano Psychiatric, PA, where he provided clinical care while managing psychiatric business operations. In private practice for more than three decades, Dr. Robert Harden offered specialized treatment for children, adolescents, and adults, ensuring individualized care. He continues to share his expertise as a psychiatric consultant for Compassionate Psychiatric Services, supervising licensed mental health professionals.

Recognized as a life fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, Dr. Harden has also received the Champion of Excellence award from Presbyterian Hospital of Plano. A diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, he remains committed to guiding the next generation of mental health professionals. Outside of psychiatry, he finds balance through meditation and reading, reflecting his lifelong commitment to learning.
